Lads, just stumbled (again) acros the portable version off KDE Pim suite (http://www.pi-sync.net/) wich has a portable version wich should run from an USB stick. (http://www.pi-sync.net/html/download.html) does anybody have recomendatiosn regarding other PIM software? Or user experience with this suite?
I'll be happy to read about it.

I have 9 pim to choose from:

The best are in my opinion Portable EssentialPIM and Portable Sunbird.

Any PIM that can sync with a PPC? That way I have my two copies of everything instead of 3 which sometimes gets overwritten. I see Essentialpim can, but can the portable version?
essential pim portable pro does seem to connect to my PPC.
At first it did not, but support said: try activesync 3.8, and that does connect.
I can tell it connects because i get errors that are about the data om my ppc, instead of errors about the connection.
anyway: $60 after 30 days.
edit:
i'm stuck behind this error on the moment http://www.essentialpim.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2455&highlight=30319
yes, I too have just tried it. Can't get it to sync. Let me know if it gets solved. Thanks!
version 1.7.1 out now, works for me.
FYI
EssentialPIM now at v1.8
One of the main issues I find with PIMs are integration with Pocket PC and Palm devices. Having the PIM send information and keep synced up with my Pocket PC is a must as I always add contacts to my Outlook database when I'm on the road. Reading and sending offline emails through my Pocket PC is another must....

Why can't you set your pocket outlook to the same server info as outlook, then you can send and recieve without syncing. Of couse that only applies to pda/phone combos.
FYI - EssentialPIM has been updated to v1.9, with some notable changes this time around...these are the changes to the free version:
* Added new module- Trash
* Added ability to easily export any items to iPOD
* Added "Location" field for both To Do's and Tasks
* Added "Clear the Database load history on exit" option
* Improved 7 priorities instead of 3 in To Do's and Schedule modules
* Improved better support for Unicode
* Improved Ctrl+F shortcut in Notes now automatically places the selected text into the Text to find field
* Improved Enter key is now equal to double-click on items
* Improved all-day events in Tasks can now have priorities
* Improved remembering of contact fields selected for printing
* Improved priority icons for tasks are now being shown in EPIM Today
* Improved Contacts module, which now uses unlimited fields' lengths
* Fixed some bugs with advanced settings for To Do's and Tasks
* Fixed problems with contacts' synchronization with Outlook
* Fixed losing focus of a reminder window
* Fixed problem when EPIM couldn't be minimized if started with Windows
* Fixed printout of tasks' times
Posting updates to multiple threads that were 'finished' is completely unnecessary. Especially for something as completely minor as a point release. You've revived this thread twice now... once in June... and once today... both times just for posting, yet again, about a point release of EssentialPIM. We understand that you like EssentialPIM and are excited about a point release, but posting about it to multiple unrelated (or only semi-related) completed threads is not appropriate and clutters the forums. Please refrain from doing this again.
