Miranda Portable launcher remains in process list

I'm currently using Miranda IM Portable v0.6.7 (Unicode), and I've noticed that the launcher (MirandaPortable.exe) remains in the process list even after Miranda has fully loaded. The launcher does disappear from the process list when you exit Miranda but I'm wondering why it remained in the first place. Is this normal behavior? All the other portable apps' launchers exit when the program fully loads, so this seems mighty strange.

Not quite

Firefox's and Thunderbird's Launchers both keep running while the programm runs. That is because they have to clean up stuff after TB/FF stopped running (deleting folders, restoring previously saved registry strings...)

It has to

Miranda sticks stuff in the registry when it's used. So, the launcher needs to stick around to tidy up after Miranda.

Re:

@Simeon: Well, my copy of Firefox Portable (2.0.0.1) doesn't leave the launcher running, so I was wondering what was different.

@John: Ah, I get it now. Well, it's all good if that's the case. Kudos for 'porting some of my most-used apps, by the way. Thanks! =^^=

FFP does sometimes

But only on systems where Firefox isn't installed locally. If FF is already installed, then FFP doesn't leave behind anything that wasn't already there. The launcher is smart enough to know the difference and stick around only if it needs to.
