since some weeks it is impossible to update VLC to version 2.2.1. I can neither update via the PortableApps-updater, nor can I download it from the apps list.
I don't think I'm the only one who has this problem

You don't mention any error occurring. What are you seeing?
I just downloaded VLC Portable 2.1.2 without issue through my browser and through the platform. The file is on the server and downloading as expected.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
