Yes, I had seen / experienced that bug. Even when you start a FFS after 6.2 (having used the portable "installation") with its own exe file the bug occurs on my system.
The newer versions, respectively the last one can automatically verify (by check sum or content) copied files, that is why I would like to use that version.
The last working portable version of FFS is 6.2 IIRC, the later versions have a bug that makes the program unusable when launched from another exe, more info here: http://sourceforge.net/p/freefilesync/discussion/open-discussion/thread/...

You'll need to wait for sourceforge, once they're back up (seems to be ok-ish from my view) you can try again.

I know JTH and others don't.
