How would one go about doing this?
I was thinking of creating an app that mimics John's "StartPortableApps" program, but instead, there would be one for each information-sensitive app: firefox, keepass, and gaim. These shortcuts could be placed in the portableapps folder (allowing them to appear in the menu) and when clicked on, redirect to the actual app in the truecrypt volume?
btw, i'm planning to autorun truecrypt (on custom u3 drive) to ask for a password if i want to allow access to those programs, while at the same time starting up the PA menu
here's a screenshot of an earlier successful project and the post
oh and one more thing i can't code!!

just make the batch file point to your app in the TC Volume!!
Just a thought. What I have done is used TrueCrypt to create an encrypted file on my key nad installed in that file Firefox, Thunderbird, and Gain (and any other sensitive things you might want). I also installed pstart and truecrypt in John's PAS. So when usb key is inserted PAS starts automatically. I then mount the TC volume and use pstart to run the programs in the encrypted volume. The volume s1ze is about 384 meg and the usb key is 2 GB. This works for me. When not using the encryped programs, I just dismount volume and can leave the usb key attached and everything is protected and not accesible in the volume unless remounted. .............. Mav
the reply. That is one way to do it. It's a shame that truecrypt can't mount folders :).. well until i or someone else in the community figures out a way to make the shortcut executables (maybe with reshacker + shortcut + john's shortcut app?) i'll use the the rk launcher solution
keep posting ideas, comments, or whatever!
