Every time I boot and launch PortableApps menu, the About dialog pops up with the What's New tab selected. I unstand how this could be useful as a one-time action after an update but not every time. How do I stop this. Getting annoying.

That shuts itself off after the first launch of the Platform. When you exit the Platform do you shut it down with the X on the menu or pull the drive?
I ask as that seemed to be an issue with another user as discussed here https://portableapps.com/comment/224520#comment-224520
Hope that helps
If you shut down the pc without closing the platform it won't save its settings because Windows kills it without letting it save. Part of that settings save is saving the last version you used which is what the platform uses to determine whether to show you "What's New". I'm thinking I'll add an additional save early since more people are crashing the platform than I thought.
For now, try closing the platform with the X button and then restarting. That should fix it.
That is likely the cause. I run PA from my OneDrive, so I don't normally shut down PA before shutting down the PC. The about dialog did not come back after X'ing out of PA. Thanks.
