Dear PortableApps
Is it possible to add my own programs into the Portable Apps Platform Application list on my own computer only? This would be for my own computer only, as the Portable Apps Platform provides me with an excellent place to find some of my commonly used custom developed tools and utilities. Or would doing this break the platform app as it might try to find an update for my app on Portableapps.com and obviously would not be able to find it there?
Thank you for a great resource, I have come to love portable apps
Kind Regards

It is possible to add applications that our not in the PortableApps.com Portable App Directory to the platform, by following these directions, however it is not possible to add local applications.
The ability to add applications that are not in the platform is on the TODO list: https://portableapps.com/node/28593
Hi Gord
I just realized upon reading your response that I actually worded my message wrong in terms of a "local app", which was not supposed to mean an app outside of the portable app directory structure. It was more supposed to mean an app not in the portable apps supository. However the link you provided me with had all the information I needed, so now I can see the apps I want in my PortableApps Platform.
Thank you so much.
Paulu
Paulu,
Glad to have helped. Regarding the second part of your question, the updater will only update apps that are a) in PortableApps.com Format and b) officially released by us. In other words, any of the other apps available here as betas or development tests, will not be updated, nor will apps from elsewhere.
