PortableApps Menu vs. U3?

How I understand it, the Portable Apps Menu is basically an open source form of the U3 Launchpad. Except I don't like U3's inavailability of free, open source apps. I especially hate the lack of Abiword U3. What are the main differences, and which would you recommend?

U3 is not right

besides of all the propietary BS, an U3 flash doesn't run outside windows XP (even vista has issues) So that makes it quite bad for me, besides that it tends to hide applications and do too much secretelly . I would prefer portableapps menu over it everyday.

You would only miss the password protection but heck, I figured a way to protect my data in the USB disk! A physical lock!

No lo contendare...

No contest; PAM wipes the *floor* with U3, then bitchslaps it upside the head before it kicks U3 out the door onto its keister...

(IOW, U3 is PAMs beeyatch...)

Sorry about not searching,

Sorry about not searching, Simeon. I was in a hurry to post. Anyway, I'll be deleting U3 off my flashdrive and installing PortableApps Suite once I have access to a Windows box. (I use exclusively Linux at home, but Windows at school)
