Windows 10 can't link mailto links to Thunderbird Portable

I can't get Windows 10 to send mailto links to Thunderbird Portable. In the Windows 10 settings for mailto I am offered a few things I do not want, but no way to add my own preferred application. Nor can I find a TB setting to set itself as the default app for mailto links.

A setting in Firefox Portable options (applications) can send mailto links to Thunderbird Portable.
How do you send links in an email to Firefox Portable?
