Utilizing UNISON as a Backup method

I have been looking for a good way to sync my USB drive with a temp folder on my PC.
I found an OPENSOURCE program called UNISON.

Has anyone seen this?

Its powerful as hell and I think this could make the backup of USB drives EXTREMELY customizable.

Thoughts?

I've been using Unison...

it is powerful, and has always worked well.

Best feature, compared to SyncEXP, the other one I use: It keeps a snapshot of the most-recently synchronized directory, so it is aware of changes you make on both sides, and can help you make better decisions how to deal with changes.

The problem I have is that it doesn't deal well with changing drive letters of my USB drive, because of the way it stores the snapshot. I haven't found the ideal workaround yet, so I'm actually thinking about writing my own in REXX, to replace both SyncEXP and Unison.

I have been looking at it,

I have been looking at it, and unless I am blind, I just realized I cant find an option in UNISON that does a blind copy from a to b.

I have no problems with the random letter of the drive as my script picks that up...
any thoughts?

Basically..I am trying to have the the copy of the data checked against my USB drive.
I dont want ANY changes to my USB drive, only changes on my computer..

Know what switches do that?

no, sorry

I know there's a ton of options, but I just use a script with some basic options...
