Bug: AquSnap looses license information after update/upgrade via Portable Platform Updater

Hi,

since having registered AquaSnap I have the problem, that updating via the PortableApps Platform Updater causes a loss of license information.

Every time I have updated AquaSnap I have to reenter my license key!

Is there a chance to stop this?

Best regards,

Martin

Last update Aquasnap changed

The way and location license was stored it should be updating properly from last version to this version. I will double check thanks.

Crashing the App

From the other thread this user wrote, they are upgrading after an unsafe shutdown, causing a loss of the AquaSnap.ini and AquaSnap.cle files. I've already advised the user in the other thread not to do that.

You can safely preserve the files in AquaSnap for users who crash their apps with unsafe shutdowns by adding an installer.ini with the following contents:

[FilesToPreserve]
PreserveFile1=App\AquaSnap\AquaSnap.ini
PreserveFile2=App\AquaSnap\AquaSnap.cle

This is why we prefer apps that give us a way to redirect settings using a command line parameter (like Firefox) or an environment variable (like FileZilla) rather than hard-coding the settings in portable mode to be in a specific location and why the whole concept of every publisher make their app 'portable' in every random way under the sun is a bad idea.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Thanks John

As I Have been testing this all morning and could not replicate the error occurring, will get it into .ini file
