Windows 10 and setting a portable app as a default applciation

Hey guys,

I've been setting file types to portable applications from the platform, like setting all video types to Media Player Classic and this works well. I only had to select a video, click "open with" then choose MPC from the custom program button and set as default.

After that, I could easily go in the Windows settings and select MPC for every video type without having to set every single video file extension to MPC.

With InfranView however, it's a different story. Even after clicking "open with" on several image types and selecting InfranView as default, I still cannot select it in the Windows 10's default photo viewer application as the only option is "Paint".

No idea why MPC appeared automatically after setting the app as a default for a file, while it doesn't with InfranView.

I could set every extension manually, but there's a LOT:

Anybody found a way to add a portable application to the possible list of defaults?

agree

I was initially able to set irfanview as default through its options after uninstalling the main program and running the portable one as admin. But then it the setting deleted itself and I'm not able to set it anymore. VLC and 7z are others I'm having trouble with.
