I've got a bunch of searchplugins that I have added to my desktop version of Firefox (45, Windows 32 bit). Wondering where to put them in the portable version.
I've checked the https://portableapps.com/support/firefox_portable page, and followed the advice of putting them in the FirefoxPortable\App\firefox\searchplugins folder (which wasnt there before I did that), but that doesnt work. Have set my firefox portable to load in 32-bit mode so it definitely looks in the Firefox as opposed to Firefox64 folder. Still, not working.
Help please.
As far as I can tell from my current install, they go in your X:\PortableApps\FirefoxPortable\Data\profile\searchplugins folder.
At least, that's where the searchplugins I've manually added are showing up.
FF39 and below = \App\firefox\browser\searchplugins
FF40 and above = \Data\Profile\searchplugins folder
This was done by Mozilla, not PortableApps.
Thanks for the answers, I have moved them there, but still no joy...
If you've got the searchplugins in that folder, and they aren't showing up when you restart Firefox, try editing search.sqlite using DB Browser for SQLite Portable.
I don't know if it'll work, but it's worth a shot.
I tried adding/removing the .xml files from \Data\Profile\searchplugins folder, but my search list didn't change. I tried copying the search.sqlite from one profile to a clean PFF, but that didn't work either.

I have copied my search.sqlite, search.json, search-metdata.json files from my desktop installation to the portable one, still makes no difference. Is there anyway to flag this up as a bug?
(However, when I copied the contents of searchplugins alone - not the sqlite file - from my windows desktop to my linux desktop installation, it worked fine! Seems likely that it is something to do with the portable implementation).
I tried copying the searchplugins folder to the FF Profile folder on a local install (Win7 32-bit). It doesn't work either, so I don't think it is a problem with the Portable version.
