Ok, I admit, I did something I shouldn't have..
I started Portable Firefox 2.0.0.2 (on my PC where I use it, not on a usb stick) and got a helpful Extension update notification. 3 of my extensions had found themselves updates.
Something came up and I wanted to shut down Firefox a.s.a.p. so what I did is wait until the last extension update progress bar was finished, and Firefox was asking me to "Restart?" then I hit the cross on the topright corner of the update window, and er..
This is the bad bit, I killed the Firefox process in Task Manager cos I was too impatient to wait for it to 'boot' and close the window.
Now my extensions have vanished. All of them.
First of all they had just disappeared out of the Extensions window - i.e. you go to Tools -> Add-Ons, and.. empty! That was bad enough. But a couple of (normal) restarts later, they all vanished out of the browser. So no trace of them in the Tools menu and all the extension-related buttons are gone.
If I look in my Firefox Portable install directory they're all sitting there under \FirefoxPortable\Data\profile\extensions, so I must be able to get them back.
Just not sure how. Anyone any ideas? Would be much appreciated!
Josh
Deleting extensions.rdf in your profile.

had the same problem, tryed that and worked perfectly!
thanks a lot
(only had to disable the extensions that I wanted disabled again.)
found out now when I wrote this that my dictionaries (not the default) is missing!
what to do?
Or maybe its the same problem and you have to delete another file.

AFAIK, the dictionaries disappear from the extension list when you install them.

I tried that and it worked. Yippee!
Strange though, I'd already renamed extensions.rdf (in the location where all the extensions folders are) to extensions.rdf.OLD and that didn't help.
However, this time I searched the whole Firefox Portable folder sub-structure and found 3 extensions.rdf files.
I deleted all 3 and presto, back in business.
Cheers

Jonh you should fix this bug. In standard version this doesn't happen
I've had it happen to me in normal Firefox before. The solution is to just delete all instances of extensions.rdf
There's a page on it on the Mozilla Wiki somewhere.
