It would be a Good Thing [TM] if there were a "sticky" message listing the current version of FP which was updated when a new version was released. That way we could subscribe to that and get notified about new releases without having to check the FP page for updates.
This would in fact be a Good Thing [TM] for all PAs with support fora.

All updates will be automatically sent to the PortableApps.com Platform. That's how updates are done for all apps.
If you're not using the PortableApps.com Platform, you can update Firefox using its updater within Firefox Portable. Just check in for updates of the FirefoxPortable.exe launcher here and there.
If you want to know every time Firefox Portable is updated, you can subscribe to RSS or just check here everytime Firefox itself is updated. We generally package it within a few hours.
