I just downloaded the latest version and installed in to my USB drive but there are no EXE files, no launcher - PortableAppsMenu.exe ... am I missing something?

Are you positive you extracted it to your Flash Drive, and not like C:Program Files?
If so, maybe try re-installing it...
I extracted into my flash drive E:\ and everything else but the executables.
I just downloaded the Lite version and it is working.
