Is Gimp 2.9.x in the pipeline ?

Hi,
Is Gimp 2.9.x on the road to be portable ?
(gimp 2.8 can't actually deals with 16-bits depth images)

Development Branch

Gimp 2.9.x is a development branch and is not intended for everyday usage. Gimp 2.8 is the current stable branch. Once 2.9 is deemed stable enough for general usage, it becomes 2.10.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
