MAME Portable 0.180 Dev Test 1

Application: MAME
Category: Games
Description: From the publisher's website:

MAME originally stood for Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator.

MAME's purpose is to preserve decades of software history. As electronic technology continues to rush forward, MAME prevents this important "vintage" software from being lost and forgotten. This is achieved by documenting the hardware and how it functions. The source code to MAME serves as this documentation. The fact that the software is usable serves primarily to validate the accuracy of the documentation (how else can you prove that you have recreated the hardware faithfully?). Over time, MAME absorbed the sister-project MESS (Multi Emulator Super System), so MAME now documents a wide variety of (mostly vintage) computers, video game consoles and calculators, in addition to the arcade video games that were its initial focus.

Download MAME Portable 0.180 Dev Test 1 (82.0MB download / 401MB installed)
(MD5: 54a8f5dee51bf447136a21dba2963cf5)

Note: This program requires ROMs of the machines it emulates to work correctly. Please do not discuss, ask, or imply ways of obtaining ROMs illegally. If I notice any such activity, I will actively attempt to have you removed from the site. Thank you for your cooperation.

Note: Additional files that can be used with this program can inflate the size of the application massively. The total size of a complete installation can reach >100 GB.

Note: This is a loose continuation of both mjashby's MAME Portable and my own QMC2 Portable.

I'll get to this as soon as I can. Don't worry, I haven't re-abandoned my work again Smile

Status

Just a quick status update: I finally got a little more time in my day so I'll be doing a round of updates starting today and going alphabetically as normal.

You need to fix drive "directory(s) with letters change".

You need to fix drive inside mame portable software, "directory(s) with letters change".

if you place it, in example d:\mame\
and after the drive letters change like e:\mame\
Then it not follow the new letters and not follow folders, of directorys inside the software.

Your Mame Portable work perfectly if it's always inside the same drive letter and also inside the same sub-directory. (but it not made it 100% portable).

MAME quirk, maybe?

I've had this happen before personally (in a non-portable context) where the INI file isn't always respected, which always kinda weirds me out a little. I'm just getting over an illness so when I can I'll be back to this.
