Can U3 apps usable in portableapps.com?

I have been reading the forums a lot on how to get Skype working in portable apps, and actually had a U3 USB drive for about two weeks. (Bought it at OfficeMax and returned it two weeks later because I didn't like it. No problems.) And I see that Skype has a U3 application. So my question is, could a wrapper or launcher be written to allow U3 applications to work in portableapps.com. U3 claims to be a standard, so I don't think there is any copy infringments,
(And yes, I know that portableapps works much more efficiently, uses less space, and memory but until we can convince software makers to write for portableapps also, it would be a good stop-gap measure.)
Finally, I would like to add that I love portableapps. I have even went so far as to install the same apps (non-portable versions) on my home PC, both in Windows XP and Xubuntu, and set up my XP and Xubuntu structures so that I all my updated files can be transfured to the USB in one step. (I just don't usually have my USB HDD plugged in, and I switch between windows and linux.) Keep up the good work.

U3...

"U3 claims to be an standard" That's the issue, that is claimed by the guys that invented it, if anything U3 just adds a lot of propietary garbage that was not needed in the process of having portable apps.

But, what I found about skype is:
`` Just start skype with the command line parameters /removable and /datapath ´´

Apparentally: http://share.skype.com/blog/products_and_services/skype_on_an_usb_smart_... is a complete tutorial but you need to log in.

Anyways, just knowing the command line is enough to get skype portable either with a batch file or a script or launcher so I guess somebody else here might do it. I would if I actually had skype...
