Morning!
What's the difference between Telegram PortableApps version (https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/telegram-desktop-portable) and official client (https://telegram.org/dl/desktop/win_portable)?
It could be interesting change the PortableApp version to official one, which is v1.0 vs v0.10.
What do you think?
Greets!
The PA.c packaged version will keep your data and settings within the Data directory instead of Telegrams own directory and will remove the shortcut placed on the local machine's Start Menu by Telegram itself. Telegram's official version will leave a broken shortcut in the Start Menu behind on every PC you use it on.
The PA.c package has been updated. I didn't realize it was out of date. In the future, you can notify us via the Outdated Apps thread in the forums which is linked from the Development and Support pages.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Thanks, I will keep it on mind.
Mine was the same question. What concerns me is to not leave data on my computer when I sign out, in case of privacy breech, computer theft etc. Which is the right version for that and what settings should I apply? I'd also like to be able to sign in with just a password if there's a way to do that. Basically, I'm trying to get smartphones etc out of my life but still want to use Telegram on my PC. Thanks.
You may find a nice explanation here → https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/telegram-desktop-portable. The App Notes thingy.
That's related to Telegram itself, and not its portable version.
You should search in features suggested by users (https://bugs.telegram.org/?type=suggestions), official channels, and other sources like https://t.me/tginfoen.
