Cdex update error

I'm trying to update to Cdex 1.8.4, but am getting the following error:

Download Error: Rget Error on file
http://mirror.cdex.mu/CDex-1.84.exe

I'm using Portable Apps version 14.4.1 on Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit.

Any ideas??

Download in IE

Can you download that file in IE on your machine? PA.c live installers use Windows networking components to handle downloads, the same components used by IE.

I just tried it again

I just tried it again, and it sits for a very long time at 20056kb (100%) of 20100kb, then throws that error.
I can get to that URL via IE, but right at the end of the download, it says "the cedex-1.85.exe download was interrupted".
If I let IE "resume" the download, it successfully finishes.

Other portable updates work fine.

Norton?

A pause at the end of a download and then failure usually indicates an antivirus or software firewall blocking the download or taking too long to scan it. I think someone had mentioned some versions of Norton had a false positive on CDex earlier today. If not Norton, I know some versions of ESET have issues with timeouts, but it's usually only on large files (like LibreOffice).

Tried it on a different

Tried it on a different machine with different AV, and still can't download, so I'm thinking it's something with my work network blocking it...

Work Firewall

If your work Firewall is using Norton/Symantec, that would be it. If you manually download the file and place it next to the online installer, you can do it that way.
