Global Disabling Of Splah Screens

I searched briefly on this topic and found nothing.

Whenever I install a portable app from this site, the first thing I always do is edit the INI file and disable the splash screen. This has gotten tedious after having used these apps for nearly a year, and having installed them over and over on various computers.

Now with the suite and its multiple programs, all of which have splash screens, it seems particularly appropriate: is there a way to just globally disable the splash screens for the portable apps, rather than manually copying the INI file to the loader directory, editing the INI file, for each program?

Thanks,

Nick

It's a post from November in

It's a post from November in which I asked the same question I'm asking now. The last post got no response over the course of a three month period, so I felt like the statute of limitations on reposting had probably run out (I actually tried bumping the last thread to avoid duping, but instead of politely replying with "yes, here is how" or "no, it can't be done as of yet", the bump was deleted and the question remains unanswered).

I don't want to turn this into a thread about posting etiquette, so I'll simply re-ask my question: is there a way to globally disable splash screens on all JTH portable applications?

No

The answer is no. And there won't be. For the apps that have them, they serve a purpose. Some apps, like virtual magnifying glass, are so quick they don't need them. I usually refrain from answering for a bit in the hopes that someone else will first, hence my lack of reply.

Please refrain from violating the forum guidelines in the future. (yes, it is policy to delete bumps by original posters.)

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Thanks

Thanks for the response.

Sorry for breaking the rules, but after three months of silence, I had a choice to make:

1) Keep the discussion contained in one thread at the expense of deliberately breaking the rules
2) Repost an identical thread, staying within the bounds of the rules but cluttering search results if anyone should be interested in this topic
3) E-mail you directly, or
4) Give up

I went with #1, since a three-month-old bump seemed more innocuous than a repost. Clearly I was wrong, and in the future all potential bumpers can use this thread as an example that the correct solution is reposting a thread rather that simply bumping it.

Anyway, thanks again for the response and for your work with portable apps. I use them all day, everyday.
