What if I tell you, that i had a dream... the dream about just plugging in an usb stick, starting a program and suddenly, the desktop became like I'd want to see every time:
- Custom Wallpaper
- Program icons for the apps from PAL
- Files, Folders, ...
- ...
Something like Hirens Mini XP, like a WindowsToGo but without the OS part, it's just inside Windows but without virtualization to improve speed...
It is possible and it would make working at different areas much better then else... but ...
I think I am the only one with this dream, maybe because I am stupid?
Maybe because I know, that I newer will be able to finish that task?
I dunno... but I want to share it and hear what the voice outside my mind thinks about it

While you can't yet show your own icons on the Windows desktop, you can hide the existing desktop icons by checking the Hide Desktop Icons box within the Advanced tab of Options.
Fewer and fewer people use the apps portably, so our initial plan to provide a custom desktop is on the back burner for now.

I mean a larger and larger percentage of our userbase is using our apps either from a synced cloud drive folder to two computers they own (like a laptop and a desktop) or just using the apps on a local or external drive that they keep in a single location. The percentage of people that take our drives around with them on a portable device (flash drive, portable SSD/HDD) has been shrinking.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
It seems logical.
I thought you're implying the need for Portable Applications has reduced.
Which, in my opinion, is on the contrary.
PortableApps just needs more applications from areas currently aren't covered.
I wish I knew how can I make something to be officially released (Donations didn't help).
