Delete folder content

Hi,
I want clean up after my backup. So, I want to clean (=delete) all files and subfolders of a folder. I try to realize that with "sync" and "clean". The Source is a empty folder and the destination is the folder which I want to clean up. But it does not work.

I also try to use a script command 'delete' like 'delete([[c:\myfolder]])'. It is not work, too.

Can anybody help?

re: delete folder content

There's several tools that might be able to help but I'm a little confused on what you're looking for. Could you give the starting conditions, do a numbered list of separate steps, and what the results of the process?

First we speak about tool

First we speak about tool "Toucan". My steps are e.g.:

* start toucan portable 3.1.5
* select tab "script"
* select in first selection "other commands" and in second "delete([[path]])" and click "+"
* replace "path" with "D:\Test" >> delete([[D:\Test]])
* click run
* dialog is opening and says "all is fine"
* looking in filesystem >> folder is still there

What's wrong?

I'm afraid I can't speak for Toucan as I'm not familiar with that program. Based on the process you're describing however, I'd recommend using BleachBit with the custom settings enabled (see Preferences - Custom tab).

Sorry, but why you answer in

Sorry, but why you answer in a "toucan" forum, when you do not know the software!?!?!

"BleachBit" is a CleanUp-Tool and "Toucan" is a Backup-Tool. Do you see the different?

Yeah that one is on me -- I was answering recent posts rather than paying attention to the subforum. My fault.

My reply was based on what you seemed to be putting together (deletions), but obviously there's more going on.

Ok, but I look for a solution

Ok, but I look for a solution in one tool. The main task is a backup-task, so the tool is toucan.

In this tool, normaly, deleting is not a problem, but it does not work. (see first post)

Makes sense but I don't think I can help here -- not a Toucan user.

Similar problem here

Content that was deleted from the source path still remains in the destination path after sync. Using the "Clean" function should get rid of these files and folders, the console reports them as deleted, but if I look them up in windows explorer they are still here.

Also, there is nothing uncommon with these remaining files, they are not locked or hidden system files, I can easily delete them manually.

I really hope that can be resolved here because I'd hate to create a github account for a single bug report...
