I have found this particularly helpful because it contains a deskew option to straighten crooked scans, and can make the PDFs searchable using OCR
Description:
NAPS2 is a document scanning application with a focus on simplicity and ease of use. Scan your documents from WIA- and TWAIN-compatible scanners, organize the pages as you like, and save them as PDF, TIFF, JPEG, PNG, and other file formats. Requires .NET Framework 4.0 or higher.
NAPS2 is currently available in over 30 different languages. Want to see NAPS2 in your preferred language? Help translate! See the wiki for more details.
This is a fork of the NAPS project with many improvements.
i support the Idea, we don't have good scan app on portable app
I totally agree with you. It would be incredibly good to have a good scan app on portable suite.
I've tested NAPS portable (zip, not paf) at home and at work and it worked very well.
I haven't examined the program, but I believe it uses TWAIN and WIA drivers already installed and don't install any driver at the computer.

Really surprised this has not been added yet. Doing some scanning today and really thought I would find it on PortableApps.
Instead had to download the portable version separately and set up manual shortcuts.
+1 for adding this App!
Any word about adding this to portableapps? We don't need an 11th web browser, but a single good scanning software would be a welcome addition to the platform.
so far it did mostly end in installing printing drivers on the local machine, therefore not really portable

I don't know what you mean but i did a manual install of it under portableapps and it seems to work well. There is also a portable version of it on the official site so it is already designed to work in a portable fashion.
I haven't deeply examined the program, but I believe it uses TWAIN and WIA drivers already installed and don't install any driver at the computer.

This is in the works and already built. Just been testing as it uses .NET 4.6.2 to ensure proper function with and without it installed with the PA.c Platform prompting to download it when needed.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
I see it was just added. Thank you very much Mr. Haller.
Thank you very much.
