Hi all
I'm fairly certain (from my somewhat limited computer knowledge) that this isn't possible, but thought I'd ask in case I'm wrong.
I have a student who is going to run Balabolka off a USB for use on her school's exam laptops. As the laptops are just pulled from a bank, there is no way to ensure she is given the same computer every time, nor what voices are installed. She is also without install privileges. She would like to listen to an Australian English voice (for which we have the executable file) but is there any way to have this 'install' on the USB too, so that Balabolka detects it as an option?
Thanks in advance!
You are correct in your assumption that additional voices cannot be added to the application. This is by the design of the base application, which works by direct use of the Microsoft Speech API; and so is dependent on what is actually installed on the Windows PC being used - see the Balabolka website for detailed information ( http://www.cross-plus-a.com/balabolka.htm ), especially the F.A.Q. Section
