What does portable apps leave behind?

My major concern is what portable apps leaves behind on the host computer. If I am using a portable apps browser and surfing the internet at work does it leave a log file somewhere that needs to be deleted? Does the fire wall still log the sites you go to? Is there a primer I can read on this somewhere?

Thanks

Search first

As stated, you should search before asking:
https://portableapps.com/forums/support/firefox_portable/faq

Of course, in an office environment, your IT dept can track everything you do online at the network level regardless of what you do on your PC.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

What about when you play media files?

I like the way portable firefox works, but even though I've installed a media player like VLC Media Player, when I click on media links in Firefox it opens the files in the host computers media player, Windows Media Player, Real Player or Quicktime as the case may be. Will this leave history information behind on those players?
