Can't get program running without being able to connect to Mozilla Addons. I keep getting error
message that SSL is disabled. 2.0 and 3.0 are checked and should be working. What can I do?
The import function does not work. When it finishes
and I try to run it the box is empty. How can I fix it?
Are your proxy settings set correctly? That's usually the issue.
What are you importing from? What operating system? And what box is empty?
Also, are you using my package of Firefox for U3 or the YourBrainz version?
For future reference: U3 app issues are addressed in this forum. Even though Firefox for U3 is based on Portable Firefox, it is a seperate product. And please try to include as much detail as possible whenever you ask a question about a software issue. (Operating system, the exact error seen, etc)

Sorry about lack of detail and wrong forum. I love your portable apps
and have used 1.0 for some time now on an older flash drive.I need help for the new U3 which is your 1.5 version.
I've researched the Proxy settings and I find different port numbers
for manual configuration in Google so am not sure what to do. The only thing checked in Connection Settings on my U3 is "direct connection to the internet." Manual is grayed out. If manual needs doing what specifics do I use for 1.5?
My U3 will not import IE settings. It says it is doing so but when I
try to run under bookmarks From IE says "empty"-nothing imported. I'm
using Win XP and Memorex U3 512 Travel Drive.
Thanks so much for any help you can give me.
can't always import all your local stuff. It usually gets the IE bookmarks right, though. Try again with just the bookmarks checked from IE. If it won't work, I can't help you further.
As for the proxy, it doesn't import those from IE. You'll need to crack open IE's connection settings and manually enter them into FF.

I can deal with the import from IE issue if it won't work. Strangely
enough the old flashdrive 1.0 FF imports beautifully.
Neither the old thumb drive or the new U3 will download Mozilla addons and I get the SSL disabled error. Since my Drive C copy of
FF 1.0.7 never has this problem it has to be thumb drive specific.
Don't know whether they need the manual or auto settings for SSL.
It may be that I will just have to do without extensions on either of them.
Thanks for your help.

FF itself has issues with extensions when cache is disabled. Try downloading the XPI locally and then doing a FILE - OPEN within FF. You may want to uninstall and reinstall if you're having multiple issues.

Quirks never fail to amaze and delight me at least when it comes to computers.
I went into Connections and unchecked auto connection to the internet
and briefly checked manual and then re-checked auto connection to the
internet. Now both thumb drives will load extensions with no SSL error. However, neither would accept the IE view extension which I
love to use once in a while.
Before it's over I may find a way to fix the import issue. If so, I'll let you know. If not, well, tomorrow's another day. LOL
IE Tab is actually better. It lets you view IE pages in an embedded copy of IE, so you don't have to leave Firefox. And with IE Tab, you can set certain pages/servers to always load in IE.
I'm having the same problem with importing my IE favorites into ff for U3. I've tried importing from the main screen and from the Bookmarks Manager and neither works. I guess I'll have to go to a web-based bookmark manager. Any suggestions? Thanks!
You can't in the current version. You can import into a local copy of FF and then copy those into FF for U3 though. I'm hoping to fix this in a future FF for U3 release, though.
Please start new threads for new issues.

Try to uncheck SSL 2.0. Worked for me with https Sites.
Is there a way to seperate U3 Firefox, like there is with PFx??
That is my favorite feature with PFx and when I saw you were making a U3 version I was over-joyed. I still am, but I miss The Seperate Instances Feature.
Any Plans on Implementing It, Or is it already implemented???
My main beef is how it askes me to close any firefox before opening it, if i had multi-instances turned on it wouldn't matter. but alas no.
Lemme know your thoughts.
Unfortunately, the requirements for U3 certification didn't allow me to work that in in the timeframe I had alotted to create the package. Additionally, U3 is more geared to the average consumer, so it isn't a high priority. Add to that the fact that having 2 running would make the shutdown/eject procedure quite difficult (I have to determine if FF is running from the key and close/kill it on a safe/unsafe eject without affecting a local version of FF)... if not impossible to do reliably from NSIS. I could easily add it as an option like it is in PFF, but that would break U3 certification due to the eject detection code.

Yea I understand, especially with the shutdown part. And do we ever really have enough time for everything?
Great Job though. Does U3.com provide you with download statistics? If so How many times has the U3 version been downloaded?
