Qemu is already portable

The operating system emulator Qemu is already portable in that it downloads in a zip file that it runs straight from. It might need some sort of frontend to make it more user friendly for the uninitiated.

What it does mean is that anyone can make a small disk image & carry their favourite app with them under any OS they have an install disk for. An unneeded Win 98 disc can be very useful here. It is a small install & many programs are still win 98 compatable.

It would be well worth adding to the portable operating systems section & could effectively make most apps portable.

There is a nice frontend -

There is a nice frontend - http://portablefreeware.com/?id=640 ! And best, it`s portable! But however, you can not toogle fullscreen and switch back (or can someone tell me how to do that???). It`s also very slow and even slower if you don´t install the kernel driver.

fullscreen

In qemu itself you can toggle to a fullscreen & back using the Ctrl-Alt-f combination.

Thanks for the info on the frontend - I will check it out. (The slowness is usually the PC trying to share its resources between two operating systems).
