My USB is Lexar 32gb, with NTFS fs and no lock switch. After I installed the platform (14.4.3), it was working for a little while. Suddenly, when I try to exit, it said something like "Unable to write to E://PortableApps/PortableAppsMenu/Data/PortableAppsMenu" or something like that. After that, all the files on my usb are write protected, and I don't seem to have the control over it, as Nothing seems to have worked. I have tried using the registry, low level format, cmd, editing the security in the properties of my usb, format, but it always brings a pop up saying that my files are write protected. Is my usb gone?
It could be a drive issue. What version of Windows are you using? I ask because XP has issues dealing with NTFS external drives. I know Windows 7 and up doesn't (it correctly sets Everyone with Full Access by default in Security).
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
I used windows 8.1, though I've also tried undoing the write protect on windows 7
If the behavior persists even after a format, it's either an issue with the drive or one of the PCs you're connecting it to. I would try using another drive for a while and see if the problem persists.

I have tried to format the usb on 3 different computers. The usb had some issues with disconnecting and reconnecting, which is why I tried to firmat to ntfs intje first place
