Windows 10 LibreOffice Portable fonts startup problem...

This portable app does not work on Windows 10, im afraid... i tried it on Windows 10, and get the app in my task manager, but does not show on screen... also, i let it run for a few minutes, and still had no loading screen... before you ask... I clicked the actual app icon in the "program" subfolder and... guess what, it worked almost instantly... so the portable app Libre office loaders have problems in Windows 10... wish i knew how to redirect the portable apps program to open the app itself, not the launcher... in case it wasnt entirely clear, I clicked on the app not the launcher, although I tried that as well... could it be my fonts in my data folder??? And another app, gimp, did have a working launcher, so I know it's your launcher somehow... also... the app does seem to work in Windows 7... this was originally in a different thread Google took me to, and was told, not necessarily as nicely as i woulld like, that it was in the wrong post... so again... please forgive my previous post, as I'm new here...

P.s. someone told me that running the app directly is basically running an installed version and not recommended, so save your breath, cause it's not my PC, just a computer that I have access to use in discourse of my duties, in church, and therefore will not, and probably don't have permission to, install apps to... it also has the old and deprecated open office installed, which doesn't work the way we want when microsoft office 360 fails keycheck due to wifi issues... hence my having this portable app that I love...

Works fine on Windows 10 for me. Please be more detailed.

First of all, Welcome to PortableApps.com. Sorry if you felt I wasn't nice enough, but you say your issue is that it doesn't start, while the thread you posted on was about an issue of long load times, where it did start, it just took a long time to finish loading and become usable. Thank you for taking my suggestion and starting your own thread for this new issue.

Now, let's get some more information. I haven't been able to reproduce your issue running LibreOffice Portable on Windows 10. Can you please supply more details?

Windows edition, version, build and bit depth
Type of drive and file system of install location
Full install path to LibreOfficePortable.exe
User type & privilege level, Antivirus product

Here's an example of how this info might look...
Windows 10 Home, Version 1709, Build 10.0.16299.334
USB Flash Drive formatted to FAT32
X:\this is here to demonstrate a long path that includes spaces\both of these have caused issues for people before\PortableApps\LibreOfficePortable
Local Administrator, Microsoft Security Essentials

I don't know if I'll be able to help you fix your issue or not, but with more detailed information, it's more likely that someone can help.

More info...

ill get the OS information when im next on it, but here's what I do know... the OS is windows 10 with all updates installed... i waited around 5 minutes, for the app to show up on my screen, and, when it didn't, I looked for the libreoffice program name in the task manager... the app did show up there... i dont know whether that means it's running or not, but the app does show up there... the source im running it from is my USB drive, formatted as Fat32, and the location for the install, is "g:\PortableApps\LibreOfficePortable" if that's what you needed there...
under "g:\PortableApps\LibreOfficePortable\data\fonts" is a bunch of fonts, numbering approximately 7,267, which ends up being around 450 MB in size... as i think i mentioned before, it starts in 5 seconds on Windows 7... i can try it in Windows 10 at home, if you'd like, as i think i have a windows 10 VM around, or can create one with an older windows 10 version, and try to recreate the problem... any more information needed??? Just ask... thanks...

P.s. it's a new 64 bit custom PC...

I figured it out...

Windows 7 works fine, but windows 10 don't, and it's because of my 7000+ fonts in the fonts folder... what sucks is that it works just fine in Windows 7 with minimal startup lag, but has never ending lag in Windows 10... steps I made to test it...
Step 1. Move my fonts folder to my drive root...
Step 2. Start the app and it finally starts visibly...

Windows 10 Bug

That's correct. As mentioned, Windows 10 has a bug that causes programatic font loading to be *painfully* slow. As such, limit yourself to a maximum of 100 fonts as even that will require some time. I suggest putting them in the PortableApps.com Platform's font loading folder so you can load them once for all your apps for the session. That way it won't take additional time each time you load LibreOffice Portable.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
