Portable Apps updates without problems in my desktop (Win7 32).
But in my laptop (also Win7 32) it since just 2-3 weeks warns: "Unable to download the file. This could be due to a proxy or network issue ..."
What can I do?
I have nothing like that with other applications or Internet conncetions ...
It's likely TLS 1.1 and higher somehow got disabled on that PC. SourceForge (which hosts the majority of our open source apps) and some other publishers have disabled TLS 1.0 and lower for secure connections. If you open Internet Options either via your control panel or within Internet Explorer's Options menu and select the Advanced tab, scroll to the bottom and you'll see checkboxes for various SSL and TLS cyphers. Be sure TLS 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 are checked and click OK. It should start working.
If that's not the issue, it's possible that PC is using a proxy of some sort but not configured correctly.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
it works but...
you need to apply win update and reboot after that for it to work
(i'm on seven)
The update that enabled TLS 1.1 in Windows 7 is from Aug 2016. Any Windows 7 computer that hasn't received it is likely infected as there are a ton of remote exploit vulnerabilities in the last year and a half.

i know and don't understand why ; despite several reboots it does not work after the change, so i think about a update pb...
I was almost up to date ; I had only 4 update to do and 3 had nothing to do ... so I read the 4th (kb4099950) but I do not see the report with ...
I even wondered if it was not the action to launch win update that finalize the support of other tls ????
but I'm really not specialist of windows ... this is for this reason i use portables versions on a key for my displacements (I just have an old boot of seven to configure it)
but it works now and it's the most important.
Thank you for ... everything
