New to PortableApps, but I really love this stuff. Have been looking at the options and find that John's is the one I like the best. I am particularly thrilled with the new ability to skin the theme and icons. I have been "forcing" icon changes via desktop.ini files w/in my folders prior to Beta 3 coming out... now with the icon theme and skin themes being exposed, we can really have some fun. [Not sure this is the right place to mention this, but...] I'd really like to see the entire shellstyle exposed for the PAM (if possible), so that we could assign our own icons throughout. As in, when a new folder is created w/in the PA structure we could have the default system icon replaced with one of our own choosing. Or maybe have a means of easily changing it after creation? A right-click context item "Change Icon" kinda thing? Anyway, thought some of you might like to see a screenie of my custom PAM...

Nice icons, where from? And did the image come with the shadowing and you just popped it in, or did you do the shadowing yourself?
The icons are from a set called "Icon-a-Day" by Mormegil on WinCustomize. He did them as a tutorial series. I use the full set on my desktop PC at home. The image is just "popped in".... it came with the shadowing. I merely resized it, cropped it a little and added it as a new layer in PS. I'm working on pulling the default background.jpg apart into its separate elements, putting each on a separate layer so that each area or piece can be easily changed...kind of a template for modifications.

Also most of my newer themes have the psd file included in the zip.
Thinking maybe I should take it out to reduce size?

Ahhhhh.... thanks, SmithTech. I'd found your themes, but apparently prior to your including the psd. That's almost exactly what I had in mind. Provides a framework for people (like me) who want to fully customize the look. I think that your theme dl's probably should not include the psd to save the space for those who just want to apply your theme. Maybe add a link to your page for the psd, give a brief description of what it is, and why?
Anyone have any further thoughts or input or info relative to my question about icons? The way I'm handling it now is kludgy and time-consuming at best.
