I downloaded the Base edition to my flash drive and then downloaded several portable apps to my desktop. I then installed them on my flash drive. None of them appear on the menu. What am I doing wrong. I didn't install them using the "install a new App" option. FAQ says something about directories but its Greek to me. Can anyone help.
your USB drive folders look like?
If it's like the below, you need to move the [AppName]Portable folders in the PortableApps folder:

I copied my Portable App Programs to the portable apps folder and sure enough they showed up on the menu. Thanks. However, This is time consuming. Is there an easier (quicker) way to do this?

Be grateful if you could explain further. I've just transferred all my apps to a another USB - 1GB as i was running out of space on the other.
I thought portableapps launcher would be like Pstart. One just loads in the exe file but it appears not the case. It says browse in the instructions but there is no browse there.
Sorry but not clear to me. I don't really want to have to re-install everything just to use this menu - particularly FireFox as i've just spent a day installing the newer version and revising all my addons/extensions.
I was hoping to set the menu up like Pstart.
thanks
Some basic info on the menu:
The menu recognises every exe who is in a subfolder of {yourdriveletter}/PortableApps/.
The menu sorts these apps by their name alphabetically. For now, there is no way of sorting the apps the way you want it. And there is no support for folders in the menu (like Pstart has them). But we all hope that some of these features will be added in a future release.
Does you menu run at all and shows the apps you already installed?

NO - thanks for replying.
Pstart might have been basic for some folk. For me it was straightforward - simple - functional.
you have all the exe files in a subfolder of /PortableApps?
What Windows do you have?
I know its a lot of work, but maybe you could copy everything from your USB to your harddrive, reformat it install the basic edition of the suite and then copy all folders (with the exes in them) from your harddrive to the /PortableApps/ folder on your USB.
Hope that helps.

Very grateful for your advice and help. After experimenting also with Asuite i have to say that i'd rather stay with Pstart. Much simpler even if it doesn't have the additional functions. Have to say i like things simple. I upgraded a couple of apps, clicked on Pstart and already to go again.
thanks
