Just read a blog on how to get ride of the advert in right corner.
Just open and uncheck View>advertisement. Now close and relaunch foxit 5 times each time unchecking advert.
On the 6th open and there afterwards no advert.

not sure how to update portable app. it looks like when i update using help,update, the update version is the regular version not the portable version.

Just place the new .exe in the app folder.
Maybe it will leave stuff befind after the update if they added some extra features.
