Instead, I'd rather read about 'it' *before* committing myself to "testing 'it' out".
This concept particularly attaches when
a) The link provided is nothing more than a DL link - as opposed to a website link w/ actual info about the proggy...
b) The link is to an "exe" file...
c) The product name is suspicious for something that could be a virus-laden malware package, as exe files often are...
Which is why descriptors are so handy.
Better luck next time.
P.S. - Btw, 'Installing' a 'portable' app is somewhat of an oxymoron.

Nevermind the fact that your testing of it did nothing to enhance this "application" 's desirability to those of us wondering wth it even is;
The "nothing" you noticed is likely the executable spewing its lovely virii and trojans, worms and bots, all throughout your hard drive, thereby earning its well deserved "name", as it will soon have your system in a stranglehold, choking the life out of it, while the executable snickers up it's virtual sleeve at you.
Thanx for volunteering as our virtual guinea pig. Our condolences to your poor system.

That's why I only trust open-source apps. If I think an app is suspicious, I just compile it myself.
In the launcher source, multiple references are in there to LAME and Audacity.
I'm going in for a test. Wish me (and my system) luck.
BTW, http://www.installjammer.com/ Edit: And the results are in! It does absolutely nothing harmless to your system (via RegMon and FileMon) and is for creating installers.
Not completely portable either, it leaves stuff in your user directory.

Interesting that a proggy for creating installers would be named "Jammer", no?...
Isn't that rather like a gynecologist named "Dr. Misogynist", or a plumber named "Mr. Leaky"?...
Btw - speaking of irony - the statement "It does absolutely nothing harmless to your system" is an oxymoronic statement that don't exactly inspire confidence in the safety of the app, comprendes?.
(I'm guessing it's a typo on your part, but how fitting; considering how the dialog for this particular app has gone thus far...)

I think for testing suspicious apps VMware player (or some other virtual machine software) with a fresh WinXP-VM (with tools like Process Monitor) is pretty nice and secure
I requested this on the forums just a few days ago... thank you so much, cthelight!
Where can I download it (can't seem to find the link)?
EDIT: wow, this is 2 years old!
Thought I had searched the forums already...

In this day and age... who downloads a file without knowing what it is and who it's from?
