Google Chrome Portable 67.0.3396.99 & 68.0.3440.75 chrome.exe not found

I've been a Chrome Portable user for years.

FYI only. Win 10 64 bit Environment. Version 67 installed with no errors.

when running the application, the error message
"
---------------------------
Google Chrome Portable | PortableApps.com
---------------------------
Google Chrome Portable cannot be started. You may wish to re-install to fix this issue. (ERROR: chrome.exe could not be found)
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

"
(copied and pasted the error window and this is the pasted format)

Tried the latest 68 version. Same result.

So I renamed my Old Folder from D:\GoogleChromePortable -> D:\Backup.GoogleChromePortable (just to check if my profile files are the problem)

I re-installed to D:\GoogleChromePortable ... Sadly same error.

Sad

Reinstall or Antivirus

If chrome.exe isn't found it either didn't install properly or was removed by your antivirus or corporate antimalware. That error is the launcher telling you it can't find chrome. Unless you messed up the config file by manually editing in an incorrect path. None of this has anything to do with your profile.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

disabled comodo antivirus and auto-containment

Thanks John, that worked. Weird, never happened before...maybe a new update in Comodo. Historically Comodo would issue a message but this time nothing... it just removed it with no warning. Weird though that I just installed latest Gimp and Blender and Pidgin and no issues there... I wonder why Chrome is a special case for Comodo. Maybe because Browsers can be a malware entry point? I tried to check the logs of Comodo and couldn't find the removal but this obviously worked so it must have removed it before. Anyways thanks.
