You can download either the installer or portable version. For correct working you are require administrator rights.
Nota bene:
Keep in mind, simplewall is not a control UI over Windows Firewall, and does not interact in any level with Windows Firewall. It works over Windows Filtering Platform (WFP) which is a set of API and system services that provide a platform for creating network filtering applications. Windows Filtering Platform is a development technology and not a firewall itself, but simplewall is the tool that uses this technology.

Yes, it use the built in portable mode, but the difference is that the x32 and x64 doesn't share the same settings by default. I.e. if you use x32 previously and want to use x64 you will need to copy/paste or move the settings manually. With this portable launcher there is no need to do that.
Can I update portable version with "Check for updates" function?
No you can't, it has't been officially released.
Only the apps listed on the apps page can be updated by the Platform.
Sorry, I meant updating by app itself. There is option under the "Help" menu. Similar as updating Firefox Beta as is written here (in "App Notes").
Sorry, my misunderstanding.
I can't say specifically for this app, but usually the in-built updaters will work. However problems can come up when the update has breaking changes to the way settings are stored, or where the installation process does something additional that gets left out in the packaging process.
You can test it, but I would recommend copying the whole folder first so you have a backup.
