I am shutting down Thunderbird Portable and then trying to safely remove the USB device. Even though I wait until the light has stopped blinking, frequently it won't let me safely remove it!
Also, when I insert back my USB device again, Thunderbird Portable have corrupted and all my mail are gone!
I suspect that Thunderbird Portable and/or another app is not closing completely so Windows XP is not capable of safely finish all its operations on the drive.
Can anybody help me with this?
If you are able to install apps on the computer try this. Donwload unlocker and install it. Once installed, go to My Computer, right-click on the usb device, and choose Unlocker. It will tell you what process is hanging on to it. You can then choose to kill the process or unlock drive.
