I've got PTB 1.5 set to check for updates to extensions but not for program updates. My thinking is that PTB is slightly different than TB and allowing the program to update itself might break it's portableness. Is this a valid assumption or is it OK to let the program update itself?
I ask because it's trying to download a "security" update even though the option is turned off.

I should be fine to let it update itself. It may however take two attempts (I cant remember how its configured :)).
Are we positive about this? Is it truly safe to audo-update extensions? Or even the program itself?

Need to be sure?
Then just do it. Zip the Portable TB directory tree and then update. If it screws up, delete the entire application tree and unpack your zip file. Nothing lost. It's a portable app, remember; nothing gets installed, everything is in the PTB tree...
