Restoring AIMP profile data

I searched the forums and found an old post regarding my similar case.

I use the PA.c platform installed locally to my user account, previously had AIMP set to start automatically with the Platform which starts with the system.

I recently restarted my computer forgetting that AIMP was open. Upon restart it did the normal "AIMP was closed... and will run cleanup." When it was started again the settings/profile were gone. I run a monthly PA.c menu backup using the "App Data" setting, where I will close all apps and run the backup.
I went to restore the data from the last backup, and upon launch after replacing the data folder it prompted that cleanup would run. It was then restored back to default settings on next launch.

Is there something that I am doing wrong or is this expected behavior?
