I have installed Firefoxportable 52.9.0 on my computer hard disk on Windows 7. Besides running it portably via firefoxportable.exe, I sometimes start firefox.exe in FirefoxPortableLegacy52\App\Firefox and run it as if it were a local installation. FF created a profile folder in c:\users\[pc_names]\AppData\Roaming\.... I also set the Options, so FF is always run as default browser.
So far, it works smoothly, but I have noted that when FF created the profile folder for the first time, the "safebrowsing" folder was missing. This is not the case with the portable instance, however, where the safebrowsing sits as a subfolder within d:\FirefoxPortableLegacy52\Data\profile. I do not understand why this happened. I would be grateful if someone could please explain this to me?
I also have another question as to whether running a firefoxportable as a local install has any drawbacks or disadvantages compared to a genuine locally installed version, or if there is no difference between the two.
Thanks and kind regards.

Thank you very much gmbudwrench. I've perused 59421 prior to posting my question above. So far, I have come across no problem running firefox.exe as a local setup from within firefoxportable. I also found out, following my post, that the safebrowsing folder was created in the profile folder within C:\Users\..\AppData\Local\...
Unless there's other harm, I'll continue to run the local setup of firefoxportable this way.
