i have tried going to files associations in windows 10. choose default apps by file type and .torrent is not on the list?
i want qbittorrent to be the default i and tried to get qbit to take over but nothing happens when you try PLEASE PLEASE help it is driving me nuts.
thx
I don't know why PORTABLE application change settings in local machine, but I found changed keys what you need delete for fix that.
You need manually delete this keys from your registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\.torrent
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\FreeDownloadManager.ORG
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Low Rights\DragDrop\{1C306DF7-2171-45c8-9324-D36448104BD5}
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Low Rights\ElevationPolicy\{1C306DF7-2171-45c8-9324-D36448104BD5}
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.torrent
Yes, you need delete ".torrent" too. Why? Because PortableApps.com can't do a normal Portable app and FDM just changed it to her settings
Also it is not all! You need found class of your application and delete it because it changed too. For "qBittorrent" it is:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\qBittorrent
After that you can try associate .torrent file via your software, but I recommend you reinstall your torrent client for solve all problems.
