A solution for the slowness of Firefox Portable on USB drives

I could find a solution to make agile the starting of Firefox Portable in USB drives (in comparison with the speed that has a hard disk). Combining Fxp with 7-zip it is possible to be copied to the disc of the computer, and the changes that are made in firefox keep in the end in USB.
Doswnload this file, that explains more in detail. The file this in a very preliminary version.

I do not know if this were posted previously.

Thanks for downloading FPbyjrb.7z. This contains .BAT files that improves the performance of Firefox Portable

Why to use this?
Firefox Portable is a solution for use a Personalized Mozilla Firefox edition in all modern computers. But also use an USB drive with the relative slowness to read and save data in comparison to a hard disk.
I could solve this problem, my method also was to use a compressor of files to copy and keep the information. In this situation I used 7-zip, because I could verify that it is the best file manager. (Thanks to Igor Pavlov)
The solutions consist in copying two files compressed to a temporal folder and later decompress it. It can copy the whole folder without compressing, but it is a slow process, besides other time lost to save changes. 7-zip manages it much more quick that which is the reading and recording in an USB drive folder.
With these small changes you will be able to improve the speed and stability of Firefox Portable.

Installing
You have been downloaded FPbyjrb.7z, this file contains SaveChanges.BAT, DeleteFirefoxPortable.BAT, FirefoxPortable.BAT, 7z.exe, and Readmefirst.rtf. The files .BAT fulfills the function to copy Firefox Portable to local disk, execute, besides keeping the occurred changes if you want it, and also erase those of the disk. 7z.exe fulfills the function to save the changes.
You have to directly decompress FPbyjrb.7z to your USB drive and create the files FirefoxPortable.7z and Data.7z, in the same folder in which find the files .BAT.

YOU CAN COPY THESE FILES TO ANY FOLDER OF THE DRIVE, ONLY IS NECESSARY THAT THEY ARE THE .BAT AND THE .7Z FILES IN THE SAME FOLDER

For example
Secret
└─NN (ANY NAME)

└───FirefoxPortable (OR OTHER)
7z.exe
DeleteFirefoxPortable.BAT
FirefoxPortable.bat
Readme first.txt

hello Simeon, I do not redistribute Portable Firefox, is a modification that can make the users, I not. I am according to the license GNU, since in he himself file I publish the changes that there are to do and because. it is a very preliminary version, and I think to release a version complete and written by my (based in the original code of Pfirefox) who makes automatically what I said previously

It's not that

You can't use Mozilla trademarks or logos in an unauthorised package.
That's why I removed the link.

the file 7z only contains archives .BAT and .TXT, does not contain some program image or logo of M. F. the user is responsible for its use.

I can't believe such trademark issues could bog us down

To avoid trademark issues
just post the scripts the .bat files the 7 zip executable everything except $irefox Smile
Looks like i have to start using $ in place of F

How to update PortableApps menu?

How do I update my PortableApps menu to point to FirefoxPortable.bat? I don't see any kind of config file for it on my USB disk.
Also would it be possible to make another bat file that would launch FirefoxPortable.bat and then automatically run SaveChanges.bat when closing Firefox?

reply to ferny

hello, ferny
1- FP must be installed at X:\FirefoxPortable ´cause savechanges.bat call to this ubication
otherwise, savechanges.bat dont work
if you want to update Firefox, must decompress FirefoxPortable.7z, replace all contents at App\Firefox\ and compress
2-Is not possible to make that task in a BAT file, I am developing an application that does what you mentioned
