I downloaded the new version of Firefox portable, but now after it opens, it won't actually connect. I get the server has timed out page. The older version worked, but I couldn't get into any secure sites. I was hoping this would fix it, but now I have nothing. I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice.
Help?
maybe you have to configure Firefox? Check how you were connecting to the Internet in the older version of FF and then configure newer version in the same way...

I should clarify to say it times out before it can fully load the page. It looks like others are having recent 'slowness' issues. I hope we find a solution, I hate IE at work.
So that's the problem... But configuration may have some causes of this problem... You have to check your proxy

The fact that you couldn't get SSL means there was probably a proxy in effect at the place you're trying to connect. They may have implemented one system wide.
If you try Firefox Portable on your local hard drive on your own machine, you'll see it works fine.
