Does PortableApps still accept new applications?

I wonder what is the status of new app releases in PortableApps? Based on the thread "Apps Ready For Official Release" it seems the last accepted app was about 8 years ago. Does it mean PortableApps no longer accept new applications?

If it does, what can be done to get something accepted? I've submitted an app about a year ago - https://portableapps.com/node/58085 It was tested and works. I also regularly release my own portable version, and I would be keen to get it on PortableApps, especially since many users have asked for it (and I'd use it myself).

So not sure what the situation is? Can new apps still be accepted and, if so, what are the conditions? If not, it would be good to let people know too, so that we don't unnecessarily spend time building things for PortableApps.

New apps, yes. That page, no.

That page is pretty much obsolete now. New releases do happen from time to time, but there is no real submission process anymore, because we tried it, it worked for a while, but then it stopped working so well. Our last app release was mid-December last year, and apps now are usually specifically picked to fill niches that our app directory doesn't already cover.

You have to remember that every new app adds workload to John, even if he is not the one primarily building the portable package. With volunteer developers coming (usually with new apps they support for a while) and going (leaving the apps for others to pick up) his workload does add up slowly. I am one of those developers who kind of came and went. Now I am mostly just a forum mod, thanks to work & life getting in the way (also not having a working Windows computer doesn't help me).

That said, one thing you could do to get your app a bit more chance of release (I can't tell you how much chance - final say is still down to John) is to be a bit more transparent that you are the app's developer, and not just someone who is packaging up a third party app. Developer submitted apps do have a little better chance because you have a bit more motivation to keep building the portable package in line with the base app.
