Is it possible to have an "eternal" Google Chrome portable immune to all updates?

I have Google chrome set up perfectly, it's very complex with settings and a whole bunch of extensions...

I don't want updates to screw things up for browser settings AND extensions that may stop working or get buggy with updates in the future.

So I want kind of a Google Chrome Portable in a cocoon, impervious to future changes !

Is this possible? What settings on Gchrome to disable ALL updates, make it impossible to change.

And for extensions, if they are simply browser based, will fetching then in a folder in original form with CRX extensions work?

You can probably setup a that blocks connections from Google addresses at the firewall level. You might try grabbing a list of addresses and ading them to your and then slowly add back in addresses like Youtube, Gmail, etc. There are a number of ways to do this, but I'd probably start with the WIndows HOSTS file.

Keep in mind after 6 months, you should avoid using the browser for anything important as there may be some critical security issues that will be unfixed on your machine. After 1 year, I'd probably stop using it altogether.

If I were you I'd probably run everything inside of a sandboxed program also that blocks Google addresses. That way it can fail or get malware, etc. and it won't harm the rest of your machine.
