anyone know if they can get there hands on a third party windows os and make it portable??? third party!!!! dosent have to be genuine!!! just has to work like windows!!! preferably win 2000 and up!

Try BartPE. It can bootup on a cd a live environment of windows Xp. And it supports modules to add programs. and I think you can also make it bootable on a usb stick too

BartPE can be booted from USB as long as the host computer supports it.
You can find some info on my website, I haven't updated this section in a while but it is a good starting point.

I'm actually hoping that John adds the option that was suggested for a clickable gif to launch PAM similiar to the newer launchpad from sandisk.
This would allow you to use PAM as the program menu in BartPE, also for restricted users who don't have a sys tray.

Actually, it's gonna have a taskbar option for those that want it. So, that would work with it.

...like me, you might wanna go with a different flavor of PE, namely "Ultimate Boot CD 4 Windows", which I've found to be the easiest to use, and the most likely to get a working bootable CD the quickest from. Check here:

Speakin' for myself, Reatogo was an improvement over PE itself, but I found that UBCD4W had more great plugins configured and ready to go by default - so UBCD4W got my vote.
