Hello all.
I am using most of the "PortableApps" available here, on my USB - non U3 stick.
I am currently waiting for a U3 stick to arrive and i would sure like to use it as such (..that is, a U3 stick), yet i fail to understand how one can have these "PortableApps" to appear as selectable apps in the U3 menu.
I've seen that there are indeed U3 version of some of the apps, but i wouldn't want to use older versions of the apps just for U3-compatibility's sake.
What would you suggest? Is it possible to use a U3 stick effectively without using "U3 apps", but normal "Portable Apps"?
Thank you in advance.
use Smithtechs Shortcut Creator 4 U3 to make your normal PortableApps appear in your U3 applist/menu.
Please search before you post coz this has been said many times before...

SmithTech's Shortcut Creator 4U3. I've heard that like 12 times today. That's VERY handy tho. I'm gonna try it on my brother's SmartDrive, cause he needs a media player, and you have to pay for Zoom.
(got rid of my U3 very fast) but heard nothing but good responses.

do is use SmthTech's USB Autorun thing, that lets you replace the U3 Launchpad with something else like PStart or PAM. When I find my lost U3 drive I am gonna reinstall the launchpad and hack it, put the USb Autorun thing for it to autorun PAM, scratch the U3 logo and enjoy my new Portable Apps Smart Drive that is actually smart!
Thank you all for replying. Sorry that i had to re-ask this but since english is not my first language i wasn't sure on the terms i had to use for searching. Anyway, this should be a stickie - after all, and despite the recent criticism on U3 - most of us came here after owning a U3 stick or (at least) having heard about them.
I thought criticism of U3 had been been around nearly as long as U3 itself...
