Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition 2.0.0.3 Pre-Release (Testers Needed)

I've posted a new test release of Firefox Portable for folks to try out. There are a few new changes. The most interesting is a new feature:

Mime-Types Processing - The launcher now adjusts the paths within Firefox's mimetypes.rdf file in your profile. What does this mean for you? It means you can specify which portable apps open which types of files in Firefox Portable and it will remember them even as you switch computers. So, you can specify Sumatra PDF Portable as the opener for PDF files or OpenOffice.org Portable as the opener for DOC and XLS files. You can find these settings in Tools - Options - Content - Manage. Just select the file type you want to use and select Change Action and then tell it to "Open them with this application". (If the extension you're interested in isn't there yet, just click a link to a file of that type in the browser and take it from there.) It will work for any apps within your PortableApps directory.

Also, a few settings changes: form filling, download history and browsing history are now enabled by default.

Please give it a try and post any feedback:

Works

Hello.

Works pretty well for me. The option of opening a PDF or another file by default with a portable application works pretty well too.

Seems like it’s a tad bit faster than the previous version as well.

Keep up the work on Firefox.

Thank you.

You have to click on a link

You have to click on a link to a file in the browser that has that extension. Firefox will then either open it automatically using something it finds on the PC or prompt you to select a helper app. If it prompts you, you select it there. If it doesn't prompt you, after automatically opening it, that extension will then appear on the list and you can change it.

Congratulations.
EDIT
I tried toopen pdfs in Sumatra out of MFFPE and it worked.
It's such a great and handy feature...
It's incredible...

Is there a reason that

"form filling, download history and browsing history are now enabled by default"?

Did not change mine.

Also, a few settings changes: form filling, download history and browsing history are now enabled by default.

I have all of mine disabled and they did not change.

I do not know what it was, either one of my extensions or a manual change in about:config that I already had set up.

Defaults

No, it won't change your existing settings. It's just newer defaults.

Gotcha.

You mean installs over existing will not change. Might want to point that out in the final release so that people won't get scared on an upgrade. I was already at 2.0.0.3 but installed for the Mime-Types Processing.

BTW. I tried the "manage" button. It works great with Sumatra PDF Portable. Very fast. Adobe is so bulky.
